I'm Hele Spivack

I have been an artist since I was born. I started with pencil drawings, then pen and ink and watercolor, sculpture and finally settled in oil.

When someone is looking at my painting, I get the feeling that they're actually looking at my soul. Each color I use relates to the one before and also the one after, and thus the layers are formed. Every brushstroke I make is influenced and determined by those which have preceded them. Balance, composition, and texture all come into play. One of my favorite pastimes is observing the interactions between my paintings and those contemplating the images created during the process.
